Highway Patrol Looking for Information in Pedestrian Hit and Run in Macon County
A hit and run on Friday night in Macon County resulted in a pedestrian being taken to Mission Hospital, and placed in critical condition.
Sergeant Williams with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol says the collision happened just southeast of Franklin, “On Friday at around 9:06 pm, a hit and run collision occurred that resulted in serious injury to a pedestrian on Fulton Road near the intersection with Gibson Road, just Southeast of Franklin.”
Jose Ruiz Soriano, 21, was taken to Mission Hospital and placed in critical condition, where he still remains.
No one has been charged or arrested as of yet in the case, and Trooper Williams says they have a Vehicle of Interest, and are looking for witnesses, “We have a vehicle of intersest right now, and are attempting to locate some material witnesses. At the time, the only thing that we could discern was that it was a red vehicle of some sort and may have had an exhaust leak or a loud muffler, but we haven’t been able to find any witnesses to the crash.”
